Navigating Grief - Intuitive Message đź—ľ

This week’s theme: grief

Grief. It means “deep sorrow” and is often associated with the death of someone we love.

But grief extends beyond that; it touches every corner of our lives where loss resides. The loss of a dream, hope, plans, or what could have been.

It’s the sting of what is currently happening.

Take, for instance, the "American Dream"—once a reachable aspiration, now out of arm’s reach in today’s financial climate. We need stepstools of loans or hustle to the point of burnout.

We are exhausted. And, we are grieving.

The COVID pandemic traumatized a significant portion of the world, yet here we are, pushing back to "business as usual" when there’s a fundamental break in our basic human need: security in home life.

And this is only scratching the surface.

So, what can we do to help ourselves and each other?

Because it takes a community to heal, I’m starting a series on actionable steps to support us through grief.

First Step: Radical Compassion

One of the most profound ways to support ourselves is by allowing ourselves to experience radical compassion.

I’ve been listening to the audiobook "Radical Acceptance" by Tara Brach. The main theme throughout this book is expressing deep compassion to oneself during every emotional storm, whatever it may be.

The author describes the Buddhist representation of fear as "Mara." I highly recommend giving this book a read or listen (it's free on Spotify or on the Libby app).

So, here’s a contemplative question for you: How can I offer myself compassion in this moment?

Take a deep breath.

You are so loved, and I am grateful our paths have crossed.

If you’re interested in joining a safe Community Group where you can share your grief, please respond with your interest. If you’ve ever been in group with me before, you know it’s not like any group you’ve been in before.
